i think the weather is starting to turn for the better (fingers crossed) so in the next week or so i might try & start on maud,if i can get some of the frame welded up i will be happy.
i gave the compressor a good service,i made a new outlet manifold gasket & air-filter,all the pipes needed to be tightened up & sealed with pipe tape,i started it up and it reached its operating pressure in next to no time 116psi/8bar,after 36hrs it had only dropped about 9psi,so needless to say im well pleased with the result, more so because it was a 'freebee'.just like the 'big' welder i have, another 'freebee',i have got some good stuff in my shed now.
i collected the compressor on my way home yesterday, its an Ingersoll-Rand so its a fairly good make,i have to give it a good service & get some air-tools then it will be ready to 'rock n roll'.
i have an appointment for a CAT scan tomorrow at St Vincents hospital Dublin,on the way home i will make a slight detour to collect a compressor i have been given.
i have been busy,i managed to make up a new tail-board for my trailer, all welded & plated and back on all ready for its next excursion.
well the arthritis is back the f*cking right hand/wrist kept me awake last night,i just wish that they soon get it sorted its starting to get me down.
today was not as nice as yesterday, but i still managed to get the tow-bar bolted on & wired up.
well today was a glorious spring day,the weather was just great quite warm-ish,so i went out to the shed dug out some angle iron, got the welder & angle-grinder out & set about cutting, grinding & welding my tow-bar,i managed to get it finished & gave it a good coat of black paint,i was really pleased how it turned out,the welding course was a good idea, though i dont think i will get a job on a pipe-line,if the weather stays the same for tomorrow i will try & bolt it up on to the car, thats if the hands/wrists hold up as they did today for a change, maybe its the steroids im on at the moment.
i have not got much to report,i gave the 'big welder' a shot today & it works, plus yesterday i bought an electric drill from Argos & used it for the 1st time this morning and it started to spark & a plume of black acrid smoke billowed out,so i took it back for a refund,i then went to Woodies our local DIY/Garden centre & was asking one of the guys who worked there about drills & he said i have a couple on offer,so he sold me an ex-display (brand new) Black & Decker hammer drill for E22 original price E48 still with 1yr guarantee...sorted.
nothing much happening, maybe i should make something up????
